I would like to take parts of certain songs, and make them into ringtones. I don't know if you can use the music you already have, but if not I need a place with a pretty big variety of music.
    Thanks

I made some of my own using songs I had on my Linux computer. It shouldn't be too hard to find a Windows program to do the same, and I know Apples can do it in their sleep.

And with Audacity you will need lame.dll to convert back to mp3.

there are no apps that I know of to do this. But, as everyone has mentioned, Audacity is great for this.

For a REALLY easy website version, go to: makeyourownringtones.com

    Samsung PC Studio.
If you go to the Samsung website and choose one of their media phones (choose a sliding one just to make sure), you can go to downloads and get the software... it comes with a whole bunch of other programs that are exclusive to Samsung phones only, but the Multimedia Manager works great. You just click "edit" on a song and you can edit it down to whatever length you'd like. You can choose to have it as AAC, WMA, MP3 and at High (192kb/s), Medium (128kb/s) and low (94kb/s)
I'm not sure if BB's have a set size limit for ringtunes or not since I don't have mine yet, (Samsung would only allow for 500kb and LG 300kb) but its not hard to play around and just save new files with different bit rates and song lengths to get it right.
I used it with my Samsung phone way back when and I've used it on all my other phones since.

The bold doesn't have any bitrate restrictions, I use audacity and then use wavepad to convert them into mp3's at 192b\s and they are about 600kb or higher

audiko.net also lets you upload your song and pick what part of the song you want as your ringtone. There are a variety of songs already uploaded as well.

It can be done but with songs you purchase from iTunes. With Audacity or any program similar you can create, cut, and edit any sort of audio.
