I recently installed a 16Gb media card in my Bold. When I go into Media on the device I can "Explore" the device and see the card. If I go to "Options" then "Memory", it shows the card is there and recognized.

However when I run DM (4.7.0.37), it sees the internal 1Gb on the Bold but simply doesn't see the media card.

So to get things rolling I had to format the 16Gb in the Bold, then remove it and put it into a memory card reader on my PC. Then DM's (using Roxio) Media Manager, saw the memory in the card reader. I copied all of the files from the previously installed 8Gb media card to the new media card.

Bold recognizes and uses the new media card (and media) just fine. DM still doesn't see it when it's in the device.

What do I need to do to set this right?

You have to enable Mass Storage Mode in Options > Memory.
If that doesn't work, you might have to enable it in one of the engineering menus.

Mass Storage Mode is "On" in Memory.

    Where are these "engineering menus"?

I would also suggest DM 4.6. I'm sure savio's suggestion will resolve the issue.

Take a look at the first post in this thread. Follow those instructions.

Here is the site you'll need to go to for the code.

I think I would try this before cracking open the Engineering screens.

Did all of those things and still no bueno. BTW, MS was already enable in the engineering screen. I tried disabling and then enabling it again. No luck.

I had the same problem last week. Turns out I had a network drive mapped to the same drive letter that my BB was trying to use for the media card. Do you have any drives mapped on your pc?

Here is a link to the thread that helped me to fix it: http://forums.crackberry.com/f83/hel...a-card-243984/

BTW bt224, the fix on that site didn't help me at all. It turned out that I just had a network drive mapped to the same letter that my BB was trying to grab for the media card.
