For all the T-Mobile skeptics here is something to marinate on, the 3G on T-Mobile blows ATT outa the water hands down as I use both ATT and T-Mobile on an Onyx.

I hope this should close this thread out cause there is no more room for any discussion as I have proved that T-Mobile will have 3G

And the Photoshop allegations are again, very flattering.
I can't wait until T-Mobile gets the Onyx. Thanks for letting us know!!

isnt it a rule that model numbers over 9000 are 3g, and 8900 and below arent?

No. There's nothing set in stone with model numbers or rules.

There are often exceptions to the rule:

FYI, TMo sells a variety of other 3G phones... just not a BlackBerry yet. The Onyx will be the first BB for TMo to be 3G.

Please refer to my thread " who owns a 9700 right now" and you will see picture proof of working 3G on both trackpad and trackball versions of T-mobile 9020 and 9700.
    bberryforlife,

On your 'About' page, which 3G bands does it list?

    Thanks.

Excellent. Thank you. I may actually get this one.

I wonder how they'll distinguish between your model and the one shown on another thread which uses I, II, V and VI.

    Oh Thank God.

I was reading all these posts on here about how the T-Mobile Driftwood was being CRIPPLED and it wouldn't have 3G. I was about ready to cry. But thanks to CX and Sal, there may be hope yet. C'mon T-Mobile, release this BEAST!

The driftwood doesn't have 3g however the onyx does and tmobile will have the onyx. Tmobile's already announced they're getting the onyx.

That wasn't their announcement. That image surfaced because of Al Sacco over at CIO. It was sent to him from T-Mobile with no NDA attached. He posted it and here we are. T-Mobile has NOT made an announcement regarding the 9700.

We know it exists because of that marketing image and bberryforlife...

Oh. Well that makes sense. At least its (hopefully) on its way.
I've been waiting for months until the phone after the 8900 dropped. We're almost there.

I was so glad to see that image as proof it is coming to TMo. My pearl is slowing dying on me, and I'm just hoping to survive until I get the Onyx.

I just realized, with T-Mobile, will we have to pay an extra mandatory fee per month for the gps?

When I spoke with T-Mo (US) customer service they said they get their list of upcoming phones for the following month on the 16th of every month. If the Onyx is going to come out end of October/beginning half of November then the reps should know on the 16th of October right? I'm gonna call them on the 16th and see if there's any news on the actual release date.

I just bought an unlocked bold for $400 to use with tmobile. Now i'm wondering if I should have just waited and used my upgrade on the 9700. Seems like it has UMA (like my brother's 8320), and 3G that I can use with tmobile.
