Is it ok to charge your phone using the USB cord on a PC? I work for a company that uses a device that has a mini USB connection, but it's not recommended to charge the device through USB. I just didn't know if that is the case with the bold.
You could absolutely charge it on the PC. I have read a few posts on here saying that getting a full charge on the PC will take longer than a regular, wall charger though.
i'm assuming because there's no prompt/message that tells you it's inefficient/not recommended, that it's fine to charge via USB connection. when i had a pearl, it prompted me everytime that charging via PC is not recommended; but this isn't the case with the bold, so i'm assuming you're fine.
My Bold is hooked to my work pc all day long. If you get a pop up for a driver and the phone will not charge, select the search Windows Update option (on XP at least) and it will download a driver to allow the USB charging. Much slower than wall charging but works.
