so, i didn't notice last night, but today, i plugged in my phone as per usual, and as per usual the clock displays. but.... now the screen won't turn off. i'm not using bedside mode, so shouldn't the standard timeout send the phone into standby?

A battery pull will probably fix that.

The phone does not automaticallyt go into Standby, the keytboard will lock but that seems to be about it.

I use AddonIs from the CrackBerry store to force the phone into StandBy.

I also use Options, Auto On/Off at noght when I drop the phone into its cradle.

Didn't help. 2 minutes went by and no change. Screen stayed fully lit, as did the keyboard. Tested with it unplugged and the screen and keyboard dim off at the standby time set.

whenever i plug mine in at night, i ususally end up hitting the back key when the clock shows up..........then the phone goes into standby as per normal use.
In the Clock options, there's a "Dismiss Automatically" option under the "Display clock when charging" option....mine's set to yes.....

No the phone does not automatically go into stand bye when charging, you have to put it in bedside mode in order for the screen to dim.
Or you can turn the phone face down.

If your phone is set to "do nothing" when charging , then i assume it is your backlight timeout that takes effect and shuts the lights after the number of seconds it is set to. As mentioned by Pete6 I dont beleive it goes automatically into standby.
Someone correct me if im wrong.

This happened to me right after the .586 update, easy fix.

Go to the clock > options > when charging > Do Nothing

It should be set like that so it turns off when charging, yours probably is saying "Display clock" on the When charging option

    Hope that helps!!
