So I was on .570 and I wanted to go to .576, so I tried updating my phone like I usually do, which is by the app loader, and it would not let me, there was just no option, so I wiped my device and I'm on .448 and I still can't update, there is just no option and yes I deleted the vendor file and still no luck, any ideas?

Have you deleted all other bb OS's installed on your computer? Did you take your computer offline?

Yes every other OS is gone, and no I've been connected to the internet the while time, I'll try disconnecting and see how I do.

So I should delete every OS including the .576, desktop manager and delete the RIM folder, then reinstall .576 and desktop manager?

That's not necessary, you can have as many OS builds on your PC as you like... but never 'delete' an OS. They are executable programs and should always be uninstalled via Control Panel.

Just switch off your PC internet connection before you start, as DM6 has an annoying habbit of checking and redownloading the vendor file again. Also try a full PC search for any further vendor files and delete them, as I've found them hidden in the strangest of places.

I need your help Phill. I downloaded .564, I see it in control panel, but nowhere else. I've rebooted several times to no avail. It's not listed in app loader or desktop manager. The only listings in app loader are the apps I've downloaded to my device-no software opt. What can I do?

try searching your computer for vendor.xml...there are sometimes files hiding from you. I ran into that problem once.

For 32bit computer it will be in Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/Apploader and Vendor.xml will be there to delete. On 64bit it will be Program Files (x86)......

Like Tuffy said sometimes there others elsewhere for whatever reason. Are you going offline and using dm to do it or are using loader.exe?

Oh, sorry my bad in my first post meant to say uninstall not delete.

Here's what I did. I uninstalled the software and dm/rim file, the reinstalled; deleted vendor xml- no others per search; went to app loader, but still no software opt, just apps I downloaded to device, also not in dm. I don't know what else to do, this is frustrating, ready to give up.

Don't feel bad, if this is an official release my carrier doesn't either. As much a s they charge for services you would think they would. lol

It's a shame really.. I'm also quite surprised there's no solution for this. I've searched up and down the Internet only to find threads with no answers.

Are you deleting the vendor.xml file after disconnecting your computer from the internet? I've heard that dm likes to redownload it again if you're connected.

Only other thing I can think of is to wipe your phone and try that way.

But I don't even use DM to upgrade... I use the App Loader. Is wiping worth the risk if I don't even know for sure I can put an OS on it?

What am I doing wrong? I did a search for vendor thru startup button with no results. Why am I still not seeing .546 or .570 in app loader or dm? I wasn't connected to the internet.
