I suddenly can't hear phone calls through my 9700. I call, they can hear me but I can't hear them. They can hear me.

Never had a problem like this before. Only happens with phone call voices.

Music plays fine. Speaker phone is fine. Ring is fine.

I recently updated FB 1.9.0.28 and the Google Mobile App 3.9.8

I've removed battery several times.

OS 6.0.0.576

What might this be?

Is the headset icon switching from headset to speaker on it's own?

No. It doesn't switch to speaker automatically. I have to do it manually in order to hear the caller. Or I can plus in the head set and listen to the caller.

The phone earpiece did work for a while a week ago, but now the earpiece doesn't work again. I'm wondering if something is preventing the earpiece from working from time to time (an app or bug?)

Might be something defective inside. I work for a wireless company and we see that from time to time. We just refer people to warranty.

Not saying its 100%... but I highly doubt it is an app or software issue. It is most probably and hardware issue.
