Does anyone know if you can switch off the touch screen on the 9790 and if so how to do it?

    Thanks

I have heard complaints that calls get dropped when you accidently touch the screen with your ear, etc.

I think this would be a great option as well. Even though I purchased the BOLD 9930 because of the touch screen and keypad combo, it would be nice to be able to turn off and on at the users request for many different reasons.

If it's for that reason, then install the Advanced OS and LED app which has an option to kill the touchscreen whilst on a call.

Apps for this, apps for that....sounds familiar. Some things a phone should just do. Unfortunately this is not the case with the touchscreen. However it would be a nice option. I guess an app is necessary for this function

if the solution must be permanent you could try to disassemble the phone and isolate the contacts of the touch screen that are placed on the motherboard.

i dont understand how this is an issue. i have a bold 9900 and my girlfriend has a bold 9790. both phones disable the screen when put next to ears. the screen actually gets switched off.
