I miss the days of just havin a cell phone that’s smart. all I wanna do is be able to make, and receive calls on my Bold 9650, and send, and receive texts, and emails. was wonderin, since it’s 2020, and everything’s soon to be 5G, if I could go back to havin a basic, but productively solid, cell phone as my everyday phone, by runnin my BB Bold 9650 off of my iPhone 11 Pro’s hot spot.

What are you going to use as BIS replacement?

You can use your 9650 as a WiFi only (or hotspot only device).... but without a cell plan, you aren't going to get Calls and Text functionality. You'd needs some type of "service" Cellular or VoIP option to give your phone a "number"... As for Email, BBOS only supports TLS version 1, which is three revision behind and considered insecure and a risk. And won't work with some services now.

so to be able to make and receive calls, and texts, I’d have to open up a 2nd line w my current service provider (VZW), have to pay extra monthly on top of my iPhone bill, and pay monthly for BB service, correct?

Nope. You won't be able to activate your 9650. It's no longer usable on Verizon at all.
