My 9700 had far superior battery life to my current 9900 - and the battery in the 9700 didn't 'fall off a cliff' until the phone was nearly 18 months old

I am a 'heavy user' but could get away with charging my 9700 every other night - the 9900 rarely lasts a whole day - my usage patterns have not changed

The 97xx series of phones will give you at least 2 days of use away from a charger. But if you're used to a 9900 then it's a tough switch going back to the smaller screen and keyboard.
