Anyone who say they use moderate to heavy usage and gets more than one full day on standard battery, is smoking the peace pipe.

I had to get the seido 3500 and got 2 full days. Phone time on 3g kills batt along with google maps and ubertwitter.

I talk 4000-5000 minutes and use poynt, google maps, twitter and bbm all day. NO FREAKING WAY I couls even get 1 full day. Last bar by 3-4pm...

Seido 3500 is the only way to go.

Cant wait to see if my new 8900 will need extended battery..

if you fully charged your battery when you first got the phone, why would it being new impact battery life?
Because most LI-ion batteries take 2-3 charges to reach peak capacity.

i think the battery life is terrible--i don't use my phone that much and it's lasting maybe 13 hours. i have adjusted all my settings to maximize battery life too.

if you have a previous model of blackberry (like my curve, that always lasted 2 days) be prepared for a much shorter battery life with the bold.
In comparison to my curve i must say the bolds battery life definitely falls short. But due to all the new things im doing on the phone (im actually using the bold much more heavily than i used the curve) so worst case scenario if i see myself running out of battery power often il get a second battery and seperate charger so il have one any time i need it..

Just for fun, I turned the screen down to %50 and 3G off. With my 3000mah battery I'm at %70 a few hours into day 3 with moderate use. I've been sending/recieving about 200 msgs a day, talk maybe an hour, hour and a half (light use for me), with Wi-fi on for use in my house. I'm going to try my regular battery out next.

    50% now, 6 hrs into day 4.

Running a simple app like Youmail in the background can easily half your battery life. You wouldn't expect it to and it's hard to figure out what's causing it.

So person A and person B end up with drastically different battery life (not to mention random factors like network coverage, etc).

I also got the Seidio 3500 extended battery and it is great! Also download AutoStandby, that seems to save a lot of battery as well. I would assume I'm a light to moderate BB user and it would likely last me at least 2 days if I didn't charge it nightly on light use.

Ever since .282 and being able to switch from 2G to 3G, the battery has been amazing. I can honestly say the battery is like my old Pearl where I could go out with 20-30% and have no fear. I think I can get 3 days, maybe 4 while on 2G. Before with 3G only, I was still getting 24-30 hours with normal/light use. But with 3G off, and turning it on only when I want to use youtube, its been freaking amazing.
