I am running on AT&T with great 3G signal strength, I also just recently upgraded to .282 with zero issues so far. My problem is, when I first got the phone I was running high 900's kbs on dwnld and around 400 upld, for the last couple months i have been running low 300's dwn low 100's up, since the upgrade I am running on avg in the mid 400's dwn and low 100's up. My memory went from 35 to 50.5 and holding stable since the upgrade, here are the apps I run.

    ESPN Launcher
    Speedtest
    Wiki Mobile
    Facebook
    Google Maps
    Google Mobile

I launch weather underground straight from the browser.

Any ideas were my speed went??? The phone does not lag much when launching the browser, but I do notice I diff since My higher speeds, thanks in advance

it could just be the network in your area getting more and more congested.

...unless it's just the tower you happen to be on now.

Could be network congestion also. I would run again at different times to get a spread.

IMO correct... depending on the firmware that is running on the towers in your area. when i went from operator approved OS to .247 i noticed a dramatic drop in my speeds. i recon it's the relationship of the OS and the tower/network firmware that is the reason for the slow speeds... could be wrong too.

Thanks, that would make sense about the tower thing. I am still in the same area when I first got it, however i will check the speed at diff times of day and see where that goes.
