hey guys, i have been lurking for a while now and usually i can just find answers to my questions by searching the forums, but this one i haven't seen up yet.

i have the bold right now and when i tryed to upgrade to the latest rogers OS specifically for the bold and during desktop manager it says, this upate is not for this specific device

i tryed the beta OS as well, and that hasnt worked either, i'm pretty sure im holding a bold in my hand right now

now if i do a complete whipe with JL_cmder and try to do the os, will it say the same?

any suggestions? thanks guys!

thanks for the suggestion, but that was the first thing i tryed, it didnt work

Blackberry 9000 is a Bold. Either you have a Bold or you don't. Your profile here on the forums shows an 8800.

i have heard about the new os's not working on some of the pre released bolds cuz of certain changes. not sure if its true or not.

thanks for the help so far guys...yeah i do have a pre-release bold, how do i get the older OSs for the bold or is there a way to force install it?

have you tried JL_CMDR ?

It could prove fatal though. Well, to the Bold if you screw it up.

thats what i was going to try out, but i have no way of backing up the ACTUAL OS that i have currently on right now, because if i wipe it out and i get the same message that i got earlier of the software not being system specific then im stuck with the 507 error. is there a way to bypass that error message or bypass DM and force install it?

so i went through that forum and i tryed everything, wiping handheld and doing the command line loader /nojvm but still the same thing, has anyone had any experince with a pre-release bold and what os can be installed from? i think i might have to get one specific from RIM?
