My friend's dad just got back from a trip to Europe. He's got AT&T here, but I think the Bold itself is a European model. The unit's always functioned fine here before, but for some reason, it's no longer able to operate on an 850MHz frequency. Even if the phone is from Europe, all Bolds are quad-band, so it should work, right? Is there something he could tweak in the settings to get this squared away? Thanks!

Yeah, that's the first thing I tried haha. Oh well, turns out his Bold is tri-band, is that even possible?

Hmm that makes no sense. It's a world phone. I would maybe try clearing the device and reinstalling the OS, but I don't know if it will help.

Just a thought, check in the engineering screen under cell information just to see what bandmode the phone is under in the top right? But still not sure why this is happening.
