I was thinking of popping the sim out of my Iphone 3g and using a bold.Will i be able to send and recieve sms and emails via hotmail/gmail? Also what about web surfing? Thanks for your help guys.

You need a BB data plan for the bold to work. You could still use the iphone with a BB data plan though. I do it all the time.

you will recieve sms. not 100% sure on the internet, but you will not recieve push e-mail.

you don't need the BB data plan for most things to work. BB's can work on any data plan, but you won't get push email or be able to use BBM, and some 3rd party apps that run through blackberry's servers won't work.
