Battery pull is a hard reset as far as I'm aware. It has solved all the problems I have had after installing dodgy apps etc. The soft reset does not seem to work as well although It is useful if you have to restart your device due to a new app installation etc.I do have the "quick pull" app installed also.

I have the Seidio Innocase and pulling the battery is a pain. I use the Alt+Right Shift+del and that has worked for me so for. I have not had to pull the battery since putting on the case (about 2 weeks).
+1 for QuickPull
Thanks for the heads up on QuickPull. Just installed it. It's a lot easier then trying to press three buttons at once.
All three, Battery Pull, Alt_RShift-Del, QUickPull do the same thing. Th eonly difference it that the phone has to actually be running for the last two to be able to work. Apart from that, there are no differences.
I like quickpull too!
Quickpull for me as well, awesomw little app.

I agree.
Hard Reset - Remove the battery, wait 30 seconds, and replace the battery
Soft Reset - ALT+RIGHT SHIFT(CAP)+DELETE keys or Quick Pull or Soft rest Apps.
Double-SoftReset(equivalent to a Hard Reset) - After the 1st SR and when the screen is no longer black, press the ALT+RIGHT SHIFT(CAP)+DELETE again and a blank screen followed by an hour glass will pop up.
Thanks for the clarification!! :D
I was wondering if the achieved effects were identical.
I did notice that after the Double-SoftReset a Software Security Verification progress indicator bar appeared briefly as it scanned to 100% complete. I hadn't noticed this on the single soft reset.
I'm interested to see if the Dbl reset clears and corrects the underlying reason for the Internal System Error I've been getting from the Spell Check on Messages.
Update on the Internal System Error message....
Neither the hard reset (soft reset x 2) nor battery pull has rectified this error condition.
Next step according to a post I found on the BlackBerry user Support Forums is to: Backup, Wipe Handset, then Restore.
IMO, nothing beats a hard reset (battery pull)
If there is power being supplied, that isn't considered a hard reset to me and honestly, works better than soft resets (IMHO).
hey guys...where can i get that quick pull app???
Weird. For me on a single softreset the Software Security Verification progress indicator bar appeared briefly as it scanned to 100% complete.

Latest version of Quick pull did not work as good as the older one, has just removed it.
Same thing. It's like rebooting your computer vs. shutting down then rebooting.
