So I had a Bold... AT&T... unlocked... even ordered the parts from cnn.cn. Then I sold it for the Storm... Nice phone, good once you get used to it... but I still missed my Bold. So now it's back... Rogers this time... and in ALL BLACK. Basically I used a black bezel that I got form cnn, kept the silver buttons form the original housing, the original Rogers keypad with red letters, and then swapped out the trackball with my G1 trackball. I gotta say... it looks pretty damn sexy!!! What do you think?
The Bold looks great! But for anybody who wants to keep their 1 year warranty active, making these altering changes voids the warranty. If you send your Bold back and they notice anything, At&t will charge your bill $499 for voiding the warranty for getting a refurbed device. I am not sure what Rogers and other carriers will do/
So cool, but I really don't want to take my BB apart. So I have a complete "brand new" black bezel and buttons for Bold, and I want to trade it with some stuff for my Bold, feel free to PM me if you want to trade !
I wanna order the black bezel so bad but like garz said if anything happens to my bold it will void my warranty so I guess ill wait unless I get one thts unlocked.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com
that looks awesome! how does the g1 trackball feel?
The trackball feels great! Th G1 and all the current BlackBerrys use the same style trackball. The only issue was taking the G1 apart. You literally have to take the entire phone apart to get to the trackball! I wish cnn had black balls.

That's very true. I didn't have to worry about that as much since I bought mine online from a 3rd party distributor, but I suppose it still holds true for BlackBerry as well. I guess if anything does go wrong with it, I'll just end up buying more parts from cnn. LOL.
You know, I was pretty nervous about it too, but it is super simple. Just make sure to follow the video exactly as it is. Don't try to cut any corners.

Yeah I realize you bought from 3rd party but I was just warning others as most people will be under warranty
