Then, depending on your version of Windows:

On Windows Vista/7 navigate to C:\Users\YOUR_USER\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)
On Windows XP navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR_USER\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML (Where "YOUR_USER" is your username)

Remember to set to view hidden files

Has anyone installed this version on an AT&T 9900? If so, any issues, particularly, with the microphone?
I've installed this on my AT&T bold 9900 for the past 2 days with no mic issues.

I wanted to confirm if anyone installed this on their Verizon 9930 without trouble. I just got a used 9930 today for a girlfriend of mine and was going to make sure it had the best OS before I did the device switching. It currently has 7.1.0.163 preinstalled and I see from the stickies that there is a Verizon official update to 7.1.0.991. Since I've only owned touchscreen BB's, what is your opinion: Stick with the official Verizon upgrade or give this one a shot? Thanks guys.

LOL - I'm actually going to have to re-read the procedure to upgrading a leaked OS to these 7.1 BB's...I'm so used to upgrading my Z10 now, I think I forgot how...!

Yes I realize this, but dimm0k indicated this on page 2 of the posts: "this works on the 9930 too!". That is why I asked if anyone tried to load it yet on a 9930.

It works like a charm, I didn't need to delete vendors the DM automatically offered the update as I plugged the phone in. I have T-MOB HUN ... perhaps it came from them... ?

Thanks to a little help from dimm0k... I put this on my Verizon 9930. You just install this one, grab the java folder, uninstall, install the Verizon 991, rename java folder, put this one in its place, and push. I did a wipe first.... and it's running like a top!

no it's a leaked OS, any leaked OS does not require you to delete the vendor.xml file it will install fine

Installed yesterday in my 9900, apart from a much diminished memory leak (I had major leaks with OS .912) I cannot say I have noticed anything else.. Radio signal seems better but too soon to confirm this.
Its nice to find some love for this device.. In many countries. like mine, BB10 is still not available.. They were announced but they are not available from our local carriers. The Bold 9900 is still BB "flagship" in Argentina!!

Well if makes any difference I've been using this OS with the VZW radio since that post and have not had any issues or need to reboot until yesterday when I forgot to charge and the phone ran out of juice.

Vendor files are only relevant for official releases as they contain information relevant to the supplier releasing the operating software. Beta software vendor.xml files are very small and hold no relevant information and don't need to be deleted to install the operating software.

Installed Saturday night on my 9900 (once I finally found and old Windows netbook to install it with) and it's been great for me so far. No complaints from anyone on phone calls either.

After 4 days, is memory still minimal? Memory leak on .861 was very minimal or almost absent in the beginning. But after some time, it has become bad, just like the others...
