Bold 9900 or 9930? Help! Giving advise to a friend. Which to buy?

Bold experts help. I need some quick advise. Which to buy for a friend 9900 or 9930?

Here's the deal. The phone will be used exclusively in Vietnam, which is GSM. So an unlocked (Verizon) 9930 could work, I think. But am worried that either it will be stuck on 2g (we have 3g here), or it won't get pushed the latest software updates. The 9900 is sold here in Vietnam but at a premium. I entend to purchase it in the US and ship it here. It would be 9900 all the way if the 9930 wasn't significantly cheaper and I understand they are the same phone, just for different carriers.

What's the price difference, the verizon 9930 would work but doubt it would get 3G to be honest. 9900 is the way to go.

Well, I've seen a new 9930 on eBay for 150, while a 9900 is 225. So about 75 more, plus or minus.

It is worth it though

I believe the 9900 is more versatile with the GSM networks than the 9930, and the 9930 was designed for CDMA (VerizonWireless, Sprinit) networks.

I'm still using a 9930 here (VerizonWireless), fully updated. After 2yrs, the only issue is the battery weakened. I'm waiting on a new battery from ShopCrackBerry.
