There's been a lot of questions regarding unlocking a 9900 / 9930 from particular carriers for use on other carriers. I figured maybe we should make one thread with all the info (and can we sticky it to the top?)

lets keep this thread updated, and please correct me if i'm wrong on anything.

    If you have AT&T:

Unlocked Rogers or Bell 9900 will give you: EDGE, 3G, H+ (no visual voicemail yet)
'Unlocked' Verizon 9930 will give you: EDGE

    If you have T-Mobile (USA):

Unlocked Rogers/Bell 9900 will give you: EDGE
'Unlocked' Verizon 9930 will give you: EDGE

    If you have Sprint:

Can only use Sprint 9930 (once released).

    If you have Verizon:

    Can only use Verizon 9930.

    If you have Rogers:

Unlocked Bell 9900 will give you: EDGE, 3G, H+

    If you have Bell:

Unlocked Rogers 9900 will give you: 3G, H+

again, please correct me on anything i'm wrong about and tell me what i'm missing! (i know ive left out all the uk carriers essentially bc i don't know much about them)

I had asked for a cross reference like this myself. Thank you for your effort, fellow Crackberry member!

rogers, bell, telus, virgin, fido, and at&t 9900s should work on each others' networks 3g at least if unlocked.

I've just confirmed that Sprint opted NOT to push the blackberry provided Visual Voicemail to Sprint end users on the 9930...
...The kiddie phones will have it but not the "business flagship".
