Is the keyboard on the 9650 exactly the same as the 9630? Or is it the same as the keyboard on the 9700? The keyboard on the 9700 is much nicer in my opinion to that of the 9630 as its a little wider it seems and keys seem a touch bigger... Any help on this would be awesome...

9650 keyboard is more similar to the 9630. I like it though, I just received 2 of them today.

Hey congrats!!! Thanks for the answer, is the keyboard at all bigger on the 9650 as compared to the 9630? Or pretty much an exact copy?

Why so many question marks in the title. Thought someone was dying from the keyboard. Lol

no, the 9630 keyboard and the 9650 keyboard are NOT the same. they had to make the Bolds keyboard a little smaller on the bottom row VS the Tour keyboard to fit in the trackpad, so its like the 9700 now since the Tour had the bigger keyboard as far as the bottom row.

as far as key width, the keys are the same size between the 9700 and 9650

WOW thats great!!! I was hoping the 9650 keys would be bigger like the 9700's The 9630 keys were a little too narrow especially compared to the 9700...

I looked into buying the Tour and tested it at a verizon store. I also tested the 9700. it appeared that the 9700 has a better keyboard even though the 9700 looks narrower than the 9630. I hope the Bold 9650's keyboard is more like the 9700s.

X2. The 9700 is superior to the 9630 to type on. But I think the 9650 will be the same as the Tour. Will see...

not even close - the 97000 Keyboard is for women or guys with ladyhands - the 9000 is the best BB keyboard to date and the 9630 is #2.
Agree 9000 is best, BUT the 9700 is FAR bettter than the 9630.

LOL! I meant 9700 vs. 9630. Tour is smaller and cheap feeling by comparison.

Big time. 9000 = best by far... and Tour is cheeze compared to 9700.

The new bold 9650 keyboard does not at all feel as good as the 9700. The new 9650 keyboard feels exactly the same as the 9630 with the exception of the smaller bottom row.. Kind of a disappointment seeing as how the 9700 has such an awesome keyboard...

I just got the 9650 and the keyboard does not feel like the 9630. There feels like a slight curve upwards to the keyboard and you have to be careful when typeing because you don't have to push on the keys near as hard.

idon't own one yet (VZW FTL), but i played with both the 9650 and the 9700 in Best Buy, and I have to say that the 9650, to me, had a better keyboard. The 9700 keyboard is more "squishy," where there is a nice, hard "click" on the 9650 keyboard. just personal opinion, i guess.

I stopped by the Sprint store this morning (again!) and I was able to confirm that the 9650 has a keyboard that is more like the 9700s. The keys are raised and its easier to type than on the Tour. I'm excited and patiently waiting for Verizon.

9000 keyboard is the best so far, i am not sure it would be as ergonomic as 9650

I can only offer comparison to a 9700... but on the 9650, the keyboard has a slight side-to-side curvature to it... ie. viewed from the end it would have a slightly curved profile... and although the keys are the same size as the 9700 (I have both - for now, selling the 9700 soon)... the curvature has the effect of opening up the keys from the standpoint of one's pecking thumbs... so it makes it feel larger than it is... feel wise, i'd say it *feels* somewhere between a 9000 and 9700... closer to 9700 of course... but it's how I would describe it overall...

and yeah - while the keys of the 9650 don't feel clicky live 8520/30 keys, they don't feel as spongy as the 9700... they feel a bit more positive... but I stress... NOT clicky...

I've never typed on a 9630, so can't compare to that at all... only held a friend's briefly... my only lasting impression of a 9630 was the $h!tty trackball
