I was using BlackBerry Bold 9700 on OS5. I planned to update my smartphone to OS6, I wiped my device using BBSAK and after I downloaded OS6 Vodafone India from BlackBerry's official website, I tried installing it on my laptop so that I could install the OS on my device. Now, unluckily.. Whenever I try installing the OS6 on my laptop, it does not install at all. It just extracts and decompresses files and then nothing appears. I can't even find the OS Package folder in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files.

I also tried installing OS5 on my laptop, but no luck once again.

What could be the solution, please help?

Go to windows explorer / file manager and select the options to view all your folders and files e.g. uncheck hidden folders, hidden system files, etc.

Once you have finished upgrading to OS6, undo the unchecking.

I did unhide everything, but no luck. I can't find anything. Please help me out somehow. It was the same, it extracted and then decompressed but the installation after that did not proceed ahead.. And then, I had nothing on my desktop. Nothing was being installed.

Was there an error message?

Did you check that the downloaded file is the same size as the size displayed on the website?

Go to control panel / uninstall all BlackBerry programs and reboot.

Download CCleaner Download CCleaner 4.11.4619 - FileHippo.com , install and run it.

Run the registry cleaner option (check backup option) within CCleaner as well.

Right click on the OS .exe file and run as administrator.

I think latest version is 9700M_PBr6.0.0_rel3170_PL6.6.0.252_A6.0.0.756.

Don't forget to remove the vendor.xml if the download OS version is not from your carrier.
