I put about 2500 songs on my media card, but when I go to the media player it only shows about 1500. If I search the folders I can find the songs, but they aren't in the media player. Any ideas how to fix this?

Try removing the card and reinserting, it should force another scan.

Did you use media sync or did you just drag them?

Are any of them from iTunes? Might be a DRM issue.

Never had this problem. Check card on another device to isolate real culprit.

Not from iTunes. Music was dragged. Don't have another device to check it on though

No DRM at all? Ok, strange issue. Are you able to format the card in the phone then drag and drop?

I already did that. And then I dragged every song into the media card. All of the songs are on it, but some songs aren't shown in the media player. If I explore it I can find it, but not all of them show up in media player

This is a known problem on 162. Is that the OS version you are using? I suggest you upgrade to at least 247 or higher.

Drag the songs onto your PC, format the media card, then re-drag and drop them onto your device. Also try options > memory > menu > remove media card. Then repeat procedure and select 'install media card'. This reindexes your media without removing the card physically. Good luck.

all of the songs are either limewire or from cds, none from iTunes

Limewire songs can still have DRM.

If the songs play everywhere else except your phone, it's on your phone. If not, it's the files.

If it's the phone, it could be the card. You'll need to find a way to test it somewhere else as mentioned previously. If the card is fine, it's the OS. You could then upgrade as previously mentioned.

The problem is that when I browse for the files I can still listen to every song. However just not all of them show up in the media player under all songs which I don't understand why.

Then you have to isolate the card somehow from the phone to see which one is the problem.

How many songs are you dragging over at a time? My Mac did the same thing when I dragged over that many songs. I have no idea why, but when I dragged them over in groups they randomly all appeared
