Anyone been having trouble with the blackberry news app?

Not been able to update any feeds, or search for anything since some time yesterday. Trying a 'update all feeds' results in a generic error, searching returns a useless error...

Can anyone let me know if they are having problems please.

Oh I have no idea ?! do you have a source for that comment. And even if they scrap the app isn't it just making a call to an RSS feed anyway (for feeds that are already set up)

If it is the app then any decent alternatives which are *NOT* social feeds or anything like that. I just need a very simple RSS reader to updated feeds every couple of hours nothing more and nothing integrated.

I posted this last week in general discussion but everyone thought I was confused with newsstand since they killed both at the same time.

Most of the good rss readers are for BB10 because I guess most developers did not see a reason to compete with news feeds.

Really a shame to see BB kill this app without alerting the user base. One of the things I enjoyed about BB was the first party solutions. Sad to see them die one by one.
