Man they sure aren't fair. Do they have a monopoly up here? What other carriers are there in canada?

Wow at those prices, sorry to say, people should just boycott the Bold...maybe Rogers will then get the message! The prices are insane!
The price is dependant upon the plan you choose, change it to a voice and email plan and the price will drop back down in the listing for you.
basically they own the only 2 gsm carriers in canada
Like Bla1ze said...I tried it out using diff plans and stuff and got a price of 399.99. Your price is probably device only w/o plan.
I was going to say, especially with the not so good feedbacks so far
Nah the OP is reffering to the retail price 1 week ago at release the price was $599 and now Robbers just jacked up the retail price $50. Talk about a rip off. This is the price independent of a plan, I know even as a US citizen I tried pricing one of these babies out a few days ago to see if I could send it to a Canadian UPS center to have it sent to the US. The price was $599 when I added it to the cart approx $650 with tax. The $650 price shows up when you click device only no plan and after tax is now $734. They rushed so fast to change the price they forgot to change the math on the 3yr plan. It still show $599- 200 rebate bringing the 3year plan to 399.
So either they are losing money on the bold through their subsidizing or they are low down dirty scammers. You decide...
As an AT&T customer living in the united states I can honestly say I'm shocked they're allowed to get away with this crap. I feel sorry for those of you up north that have no choice but to deal with them.
still cheaper than other places in the world.
The OP is a Rogers customer...what you are saying is if you go device only..no contract...no plan..no nothing...it would make NO sense for a Rogers customer to do this...at least take the $30/6GB and get the lower price...even if they already have the $30/6GB plan they can still add it to the cart in order to get it for the discounted price....so your situation wouldn't even be considered as an option if you are a Rogers customer...it would make no sense at all to do it that way whatsoever.
But overall, what you said is still right regarding the overall no contract..no plan price..they just never adjusted the $599 to the right price.
They can't even make their website work, let alone make the right adjustments to the pricing on phones..sad things is they JUST updated the site to give a better experience not that long ago lmao!! Ya good job guys, I seen a monkey do better coding on a website.
Tigerdirect raised theirs also.
I just got mine the day before they raised it. But it's still $599 if you set up a monthly plan.
Still most rogers customers would argue against that saying that the 3 year plan is not worth the $250 savings.

How much will the bold cost in the U.S.??????

someone grabbed my bold for me from a rogers reseller in canada, they charged $699, because they said they have to make something off it if I am not getting a contract wiht them.
someone grabbed my bold for me from a rogers reseller in canada, they charged $699, because they said they have to make something off it if I am not getting a contract wiht them. Still an ok price, but I dont like that rogers advertised it as 599 then it became 649 and now the store is charging me 699.
Right now they don't want to sell phones only. They are looking for new long term users and contracts. The money for Rogers is in the monthly user fees.
They have raised the price to discourage people outside of Canada from buying one.
There is no real or long term cash flow in just selling a phone.
I'm not sure but it might be cheaper to buy the phone with a plan and then pay an ETF (does Roers have those?).
Knowing Rogers its probably the price of the phone + your first born.
Could it possibly be for a $50 rebate??? I upgraded, and mine was $399 PLUS $50 that would be rebated. Nothing was said about it until I hit the checkout button and saw the summary.
Still underhanded and low for not saying anything about it, but hey, look who we are dealing with...
