At the moment Devicewire are quoting 10th August, and Play.com are saying "Due for release on 15/08/2008", so it looks as if no one is quite sure yet.

MobileFun and Expansys haven't actually stated a date at all, so all we can do is to just wait and hope!

Edit: Just to confirm... we are talking about UK based companies here, and I an sure that different dates may well apply in other countries, such as America etc.

I suspect this is due to the demand from the networks as apposed to any problem with the Bold itself.

If I get the bold I would want to stay with Orange but wouldnt want to go the sim free route. Hopefully Orange will take it.

    Great news Orange UK customer!

Just got of the phone with Orange CS and they have it listed as being available mid July.

I hope that is true BUT mid July is a bit early and it's not on their coming soon section yet ( which I check hourly LOL!)

Seriously considering Orange instead of Voda. Used to be a customer until their data tariffs fell way behind the rest, but with better tariffs (and I get great 3G coverage at home) I could be tempted back.

Orange are OK for me, I dont find them bad atall.

I wouldn't be tempted back by the bold mid July release date though as I cant see this happening. They are very slow with updates and new handsets, I was told once this is because they test the new handsets A LOT more than any other UK provider, which if true is a good thing I suppose

And of course thay have to have their orange branding all over the handsets LOL! Just paint em orange and be done!!

Good coverage is VERY important and a more than valid reason to switch providers though.

    Good luck

3 are quite probably the worst network on planet earth!!

Yeah I am sure we will have it over here not far behind you guys, Vodafone have it first I think

I was on 3 for a short time before I got a BB & it worked just fine. Their free internet content was great.

Yes, 3's network coverage is good, and I got a great deal, so no complaints. X-Series is really good. They just don't have a great handset range, and introduce new ones very slowly. Heard a rumour that they may be getting the Bold, but don't hold your breath!

Well they are a 3G network so its possible they might stock 3G BB's. I actually asked them about the Bold but they said that they couldn't say and told me to check out their website occasionally!

    Time will tell I guess.

They are also aiming to move into the business market too.

Im new here, not actually a Blackberry user but have been contemplating it for a while now. My contract is due for renewal from now onwards really and thought it was the perfect time to make the leap, (i currently have the bloody awful prada LG) I spoke to Orange and they told me yesterday the Bold will be available in August.

I hope so, i need to get rid of this prada junk

nice to meet you all x

Not much more than a newbie myself really, but welcome to 'crackberry land' gapboy.

I am not a Blackberry user myself (yet) either, but am anxiously awaiting the release of the Bold here in the UK... preferably on O2 though!

So i spoke to someone at orange the other day and they said August, my friend also looked spoke to someone and they said August, then today I speak to two people and they tell me that they have no information on it!

I hate all the secrecy and duplicity that mobile phone comanies do, you have no idea what it going on or when.... really want the bold, it is already showing on the Vodafone business site as coming soon, and from what i gather 02 will be next.... orange sometime never? ,,, boo hoo

I would have to wait until october for 02, but i cant bring my self to go back to vodafone after the shocking experience of being clearly ripped off.... i guess il just go back to checking the internet EVERYDAY like a sad geek haha x

The problem with orange is that you phone them up and they just hear the word blackberry and just give you info on ANY blackberry. The august and even july release date people on this thread have mentioned I am sure will be for the 2 blackberrys they have on the coming soon section at the moment, the pink pearl and the 8320 in black.

Thanks crackberry user orange uk for the roaming data info in this thread, looks like the blackberry will be off whilst I am away in new zealand for 5 weeks. Well at 8 pound per MB it will anyway!!! That's 16 dollars per MB for you U.S. users! Is it just me or is that just legal robbery!! :-)
