Quick question guys. So I've just switched back to my old Bold 9900, which is about 4.5 years old now.

I find it is very picky about what chargers it will charge off of (issue since new). Just wondering if this is an issue with my phone or if its a 9900 thing, and which chargers I should be buying. It will charge off of my old nexus charger, and a built in wall usb charger I have. However it will not charge off of any of the ipod / ipad chargers, any of the cigarette lighter usb chargers I buy, or any of the usb power bars I have (which all say blackberry compatible).

Anyone else finding this an issue?

Hi! That happened to me too in the past when I was using my 8520 (now Passport). You have to get a BlackBerry charger, that's the only way. I tried with Nokia, Samsung and HTC, but it refused to charge. Get one from ebay, they're cheap

I don't recall having any problems with my 9900 it invariably charged of any microUSB unit. Having said that I mostly used BlackBerry cables, plugs and/or the 9900 charging cradle. Some cheaper USB cables are pretty poor quality, which might give you a problem but I often used microUSB cables originally provided with my old Nokia phones to charge (and transfer data on) my 9900.

Some usb cables are finicky. I have some that will work with one phone but not another and they came with a brand new blackberry

FWIW I had that issue with my 9930, too. Yeah, irritating. Some non BlackBerry chargers/cables do work though in my experience.

BlackBerry phones are like a good wife (or husband) you put up with their flaws and faults cuz the overall experience is great.
