    Hi and welcome to CrackBerry!

Data is usually dependent on how you use the device. Maybe because the 9900 is more feature packed and faster, you're using it more in terms of data?

To the best of my knowledge, if you are streaming radio and watching videos, then that would be the most likely cause of going over or close to your data limit/cap/bucket. I suggest using wifi for that, if any is available, to avoid burning through the alloted amount to avoid overages.

When I was using my 9360 I don't recall it being a data hound. When I switched to the 9900 I did everything with it, was on it all day web apps gps maps emails etc even now. I rarely went over 1gig on an unlimited plan.
I've had the Q going on two months and I'm always over 2gigs on an unlimited plan.
There has to be some data hungry apps you're using, or it may be time to upgrade your plan.
It could also be what has been mentioned above.
If you're counting every megabyte I suggest you download Opera Mini it can make a big difference on your data usage.
Also try to use wifi every chance you get.

Can anyone suggest good app for monitoring data usage on 9900? It would be good to be free.

I use Mobile Data Alerter from e-office. I don't think you will find it in App World though. Go to their mobile site and download it from there. Works extremely well and will show both wifi use and mobile data separately.
    It's also free.

Download "Traffic Monitor" from App World, free and best app for data usage checking.

Iam only using BBM, WhatsApp, Email without pics, Browsing without pics

Same using on BB 9360 it consume daily 1MB to 1.7MB but BB9900 using 3.0 to 4.0MB

Actually i have a package by company with daily limit of 3MB max, so i don't understand why with same settings 9360 consuming less data and 9900 on higher side.

I've installed Mobile Data Alerter, and it does the job, just as it needs. Maybe I will give that one a chance too. Thanks for advice.

Location ,location, location apps. Some come pre-intalled by the carrier.
(and for your convience already turned on by default).
I found the preinstalled weather app was killing my usage rate.
    That's one suggestion.
