If I try to type an existing contact in my contact book instead of scrolling to the contact, it will not show up.

Any advice?

This is extremely frustrating because I have over 100 contacts in my contact book and I'd rather not scroll and just search.

Try having 393 contacts and this happening. I'm going to try and wipe my handheld and reinstall the OS and see if that helps.

I had the same problem. A rebuild of the address book fixed the problem.

go into the address book/contact list.

hold 'alt' and hit 'r', 'b', 'l', 'd'.

does a few things, and search worked again!
