How do I add music?

There are many ways, easiest way is to drag and drop your music files into music folder in your blackberry's on board storage.
Install Blackberry Desktop http://us.blackberry.com/software/desktop.html to your computer and connect your blackberry via USB.

You will have option to sync music from an app like windows media player, etc..
If you don't want to sync, just browse into your blackberry and drop files in Music folder.

dont use a lot of that internal storage, it may stress the phone a bit and make it un slower

Internal storage is different than app storage. No, it won't make it run that much slower that he would see an impact on overall performance.
