My BIS stops working every time my Network mode is 3G. (or 3G & 2G)

the little BB symbol just disappears, internet, BBM & email will not work.

As soon as I put my phone in to 2G mode everything starts to work.

I'm on Three UK network witch is 3G by default.

is this a common problem with the 9700? or does my phone need looking at?

As you surmised, the disappearance of the symbols behind the 3G indicator means you are no longer connected to BIS (similar to lower-case edge). How is your 3G signal strength compared to EDGE?

3G signal strength is full, (5 bars) almost all day long.

No EDGE, only 3G and GPRS

i have a similar issue, but bb icon doesnt disappear, instead the data traffic indicator keeps showing a small up arrow blinking every second for about 5 minutes, when that happens is like if i wasnt connected, it doesnt send messages or receive emails and dont even think about browsing ahahha i fix it disabling the data connection and enabling it again.

with the .743 the situation is not that often, but it still happens and its annoying
