Does the term BIS mean the ISP run it's own BES for pop?

Does BIS run on the carrier wireless network switch?

Sort of, by the domain name it looks like it is done by rim. A BIS has a web interface for the user and some different functionality.

BES just means that plan can connect to Corpoate Blackberry servers running with the corporate exchange (or lotus or whatever) servers.

BIS just won't allow corporate BES connections but will allow the POP / IMAP connections to places like ISP mail servers and gmail, etc...

    hope that helps
