Thank you for confirming this.
Its happening way to often.
Wiping is not the answer.

Im sorry, what am I missing? I don't understand why anyone can blame rim or Verizon for any bugs in a leaked os. You only have a legitimate gripe if they officially release that version.
I've tried dozens upon dozens of leaks in the past, and if there are bugs that really get in the way, its a big "oh well," its a leak. Move on to the next or go back to the current release.
I'm not on a leak. I'm on the NEW phone Verizon sent me after my trackpad completely went dead last week.

the first and only person i've seen with problems/bashing this new phone. the only thing i find weird is when sending a pic Text Message style, when i enter a contact and then hit enter twice to skip adding another contact and get to typing, it reverts back to the top of the thread...just press r and im back in the typing box, but i have noticed that issue.
I'm bashing the bugs. I'm bashing things that **** me off about the phone. They're legit.
I want to love this phone but when it does stupid things that my 9700 never did, that blows.

If that's the case, then my apologies and good luck getting a bold that works better for you. I saw your comment, but that's life with leaks and rim, so I naturally thought you were on a leak.

Sorry to hear of your situation. However, expectations with new OS's are always high and we all expect it to work perfectly.....and why not !
However, you have issues that will take some investment in time and I have to agree with some of the posters, take it back and get a new one. At the very least you will need to reload the OS and start all over again.....yes I know it sucks.
As for app behavior differences, report them to RIM and hope they agree its an issue that needs to be resolved.
Good Luck and keep positive !!
Im 3 days into my Sprint 9930 and I feel the OP's pain.....I know EXACTLY what you're going through with the gray screen in the browser and adverting back to the home screen because mine is doing it. BTW, im using the leaked .340 on my phone. Hopefully a software update will fix this.
Yeaop. Leak 340 doesn't fixxit.

i don't think people have a problem with you having bugs.. it's good that you are sharing the bugs u find as it can help a lot of people out ... i.e how you fixed it, if u returned it etc.
this phone is not perfect that's for sure.. cause no phone is perfect... every device put out on the market has bugs.. heck every application put out on the market has bugs..
threads like this help companies (believe it or not they do read these posts) and that's why OS updates are so frequent!
just cause u seen official and leaked OS doesn't mean RIM doesn't have several in between what we see on Crackberry.
the last leaked OS for the 9900 is .317... i am sure RIM is on something like .4xx
if there were no bugs in devices and OS' there would be no such thing as OS updates, service packs etc etc..
so keep sharing ur bugs but it has nothing to do with rim and how they operate..
do u know how many bugs android phones and iphones have?? a lot!
so ur saying that Apple releasing the phone with a REAL hardware issue like the Antenna failing is a reflection of apple as a company? and they fail? For the love of God how do these bugs don't get discovered during testing. I realize the complexity and the miracle of the ghost in these machines but rim just fails on so many levels with hw and sw quality at times.
it happens! it's unfortunate but it does happen!
companies only test on a certain number of devices there were MADE to be tested on... EVERYTHING that passes may fail on production devices because of mass production...
i bet if u get 100 phones and try to replicate your bug it won't happen on more then a handful of them.
why do some people get BOD (Blue screen of death) and other don't doing the same things on a PC? u can't reproduce every bug out there nor find everything that can cause failures in HW and SW
Any company that actually has this problem needs to seriously reevaluate their quality assurance process.
There is a threshold of defects in release software that is considered acceptable. That threshold is as low as possible within reason given time and resource constraints. You must strive for zero. Companies that release software with more defects than is reasonably considered acceptable indeed have a serious problem. The 99xx sounds more buggy than comparable iOS or Android devices. That is a problem.
yah i know of threshold and that is what i am speaking of.. my point was that these bugs are happening radically. which are hard to catch during testing...
i;m sure not one company out there wants bugs and is happy with releasing products with defects in them... so i agree with you..
but my 9900 has none of the problems the OP mentioned nor the main bugs that people mention around here.. how do you explain that? (although i did get a JVM 517 error multiple times, but it hasn't happened in over a week)
and i bought an ip4 on release day..
my wifi didn't work (couldn't find my home wifi network)
my screen had dead pixels on it
i couldn't keep a call if my life depended on it
my imap for email didn';t work
does this mean apple didn't do a good job testing their devices? probably not.. just a bad apple in the basket!
after exchanging it, all of the above worked.. except the calling issue, but that was due to the antenna issue and after i got the bumper it was ok
so people can't really BLAME RIM for having bad testing practices and quality control practices either ... cause u always get lemons
did you try going back to the original OS to see if it goes away? got mine from sprint yesterday and its been great so far
Time for me to chime in...
I am having the same issues as the OP. What I don't get though, is what the big deal is? Yeah its a little annoying, but all you have to do is open the email again, and scroll the webpage for the browser issue. This hardly seems like a major bug to me.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: this phone is the best on the market hands down. The benefits far outweigh the "bugs" and lack of apps. This coming from someone that hates the physical keyboard.(FYI: I've loaded a number of cod's from my S2 and they work fine on the 9930).
Example: just for S&G, I opened up every app installed on my phone and ran them all at the same time (50+ apps), and the phone didn't so much as show a clock or slow down at all. No lag whatsoever. Personally, I think that alone says a lot about this device and proves that, given a little time, RIM will take their collective heads out of their ***'s.
I am completely willing to deal with clicking on the email app twice in exchange for a phone that does everything else flawlessly (for me anyways)
Question: how many spyware-ridden apps can you have open on an android phone before it crashes?
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com
I find that hard to believe. OS6 barely runs on a 9700.
I agree. The OS on mine hasn't even thought about crashing yet
