So I'm sitting on my couch, doing a little late night surfing and I went to check my status in options to check out the battery and I noticed my mobile network signal was at -96 on 3G... I've never seen anything close to that. What's funny is if I get up and move 5 feet to the recliner, I'll be stuck in a 3G / EDGE flip flop... Oh AT&T, how funny the "more bars" thing works...
EDIT: Of course I now realize, that I am tired and have of course mixed up my reverse negative numbers ... I intended no sarcasm in my original post, I thought I was getting an "amazing" signal... ROFLMAO! Please laugh at me now, I am for sure laughing at myself...

It has as much to do with the Bold as it does with AT&T. My E75 gets better reception than my Bold. With both phones side by side I can have 3G on the E75 while the Bold is on EDGE. The same was true with my E71 as well and many complained about the E71's reception.
3G might not actually be dropping, it's just the 3g/edge switching that doesn't always prioritize that well.
If you want to know if 3G is actually dropping you need to set it to 3G only and see if you lose network. Otherwise, the priority switching just sucks, not your 3g coverage.

At my house, my 3G is full bars upstairs and pretty good elsewhere except for my kitchen where it switches to edge. As a new BB & Bold user, I have had a couple of dropped calls when it switched from 3G to edge while driving, but I have not yet tried to set it to 3G only.
