Notification on Bell 9900 that upgrade to 7.1.0.2840 was available last night.

    Upgraded, seemed to go ok.

Now Gmail app doesn't work ("unexpected server response" and won't load). Also, clicking on the YouTube icon does nothing (app does not launch).

Anyone else have any issues with this 'official' release?

Try deleting the email account and then add it back.

It's not the account. The app won't load. And I don't have the app installer anymore since Gmail no longer supports it. So I am going to downgrade the OS.

Oh yea they stopped supporting the app a long time ago. Downgrading may be your only option.

My 9900 is a Bell phone so I was prompted to update when I turned my phone on yesterday.

But ...I ended up downgrading back to the previous build because this one broke YouTube, Gmail and a couple of other things. Phone is back to normal now.

I have a big issue with this update.

I hadn't done any updates for nearly a year, and I didn't think there was ever going to be another update seeing as everything's all OS 10 and all. So I was surprised to find an update pushed to my phone, but was happy to update. Although as it was updating I had a sneaky suspicion it was going to turn out badly.

And it did. After the long update process finally ended and I got my phone back, it seemed fine. Just a couple minutes in, though, it gave me the error "Input system error. The system is being restarted." It, however, did not restart. And a battery pull doesn't solve it; the first time I hit a key (which is to try to unlock it) the error returns.

So, the update broke my keyboard. Yaay!

I agree Lex although I didn't have such extreme problems as yours. On my phone as I wrote above, it killed the YouTube app, completely made Gmail app unusable and some other minor annoyances, so I downgraded and I'm back in shape now. Are you on Bell?

Came across the update yesterday using " Software Update " feature on phone.

Anyone notice improvements with this update ?
