I backed up my 9700 selectively and did a wipe. When I tried to restore my BBM contacts, I got only 22 out of about 90 contacts. And I had already deleted some of the 22 since a year ago. What do I do?

Hi, which bbm version was running when the backup was done, and what bbm version is on now? All is done via bbid now, even on legacy devices.

5.0.0351 I used jl-cmder for the wipe. My BBM remained after the factory wipe.

After the restore, I saw a message like password nor matching blackberry ID. I might have to repeat the wipe to get the exact message

On legacy devices you need to save to your media card. It does not back up via BlackBerry desktop. If you have not done that, it's gone once you wipe.
BB10 is totally different. It does not save via bbid. It is inconsistent and they are trying to fix it with 10.3
