does anyone know why my bb9900 dials voicemail by itself?? (i know W is the default speed dial for voicemail) and when texting the letter W or 1 if using numbers types itself on and on and on.......???????

the fone was a replacement for my old 8520 that died in under a year last september and the replacement they sent me was INSURANCE BLOCKED from working!!!!!! at this point i lost my temper and threatened allsorts.. so they upgraded me to this refurbed 9900 which has been good as gold from last october till now

I expanded the title a bit to try to help draw some folks here with some answers. Can it be you are pocket dialing voicemail? Try to make sure you lock the phone before you place it in your pocket with the lock button, that might just fix the problem.

no to the pocket dialing... as its doing it in my hand... its more to do with a sticky W/1 key...

its got to a point now that i have taken off the pass code on startup coz i couldnt unlock my fone...then i had to attempt to put in my PUK code... 10 attempts you get, by attempt 6 i was frantic!!!!! but i had a brainwave... i found my old lg kookie, swapped the sim over and hey presto, unlocked the PUK code then swapped back the sim to my 9900!!!! i was even talking to a ''geek''@ o2!!!

i just hope its something simple and not terminal!!!

Did something sticky get in to the phone? You risk more damage BUT you can try cleaning it with pure alcohol or distilled water. Battery out and dried with rice trick after.

hmm poss, but just 1 key...who knows... i am going to take it to a fone guy in romford market if he can't do it..then its back to o2
