So the very first thing I noticed when I went from a 9800 to my 9900 a year ago was the lack of a touch-screen dial-pad. This was a feature I loved on the 9800 and have sorely missed on the Bold.

I just saw this photo of the Q10 phone screen - exactly what I've always wanted on my 9900. Would this really be so hard to implement in OS7?

There has been an app for this for ages

Not tried it, but it did exist. Never realy seemed to catch on though.

I've seen various apps that attempt to replicate the feature; Easy Dial looks like the best right now but a proper implementation needs to be baked into the OS, so the dialpad can be used during calls and can be accessed fast from the various phone screens (contacts, recent calls, etc) or by simply pressing the phone key, rather than having to launch the app and wait for it to load.

It seems like such an easy and obvious missing feature.
