We don't have a clue without a lot more info.
It could be anything from a bad battery, through other hardware faults, a buggy application, corrupted software... or even you have (mis)configured auto on/off in the Options menu.
What operating system are you using on the phone? Is it an old OS? If it is then that could be the problem. Upgrade and it should be ok.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com
Hi thanks for the replying, i checked in auto on/off and they are both disabled.
Beyond that, a process of elimination I guess.
I recently upgraded the OS with vodafone....
Did it work normally before the OS update? Could be a bad upload to the phone, reload the OS.
You say it powers down. Does it power down and stay off, or does it restart without your intervention?
If you have to force the restart, how do you do it? Are you sure the phone is really Off, and not just gone to power save with dark screen? Or locked up by a roogue application and ignoring your attempts to get it to respond and light the screen?
It definately powers down but it switches itself back on.
How do I reload the OS because when I go in through the wireless update I
can't see how to do it....I'm pretty sure its the OS that's the cause.
Download the desired OS and install on PC. Launch Desktop Manager, make Backup. Wipe phone, reload new OS.
The current recommend for OS is 4.6.0.282 (Rogers).

I suggest you also take the opportunity to free as much application memory as possible, so I've included links to the HowTo and the CrackMem utility.
The other possibility is you have a rogue third party application, so start with the core OS when you reload, then add any third party apps or themes back one at a time, and check stability for a day or so after each new addition.
