I bought a second hand 9900 for use for work with their SIM card as couldn't get along with the curve that they issue.

The phone doesn't seem to work on 3G. Gsm/edge no problem but I've never seen it on 3G in general use.

If I swap sims then 3G will come up for a couple of seconds and then drop off.

If I set the phone to 3G only I just get the red sos in the signal area or the 'x'.

Sim works fine in other phones.

Have updated to latest firmware, phone is set to bands 1,4,8 which is Vodafone uk compatible.

Thoughts please?

Can a new radio rom be flashed to the phone and if so would it lose the corporate email set up on it?

Get a new SIM from your carrier exclusively for use with the 9900.

If there is a corporate IT policy in effect on the phone, you will need to reset the phone to factory. Google " reset to factory Bold 9900" for instructions.
