Yea I know what you mean, a lot of negative reviews about the no auto focus camera but I think I can live with that. Have you tried a touch screen yet?

Definitely. I just got the 9650 a couple months ago but with the bigger keyboard on the 9930 sold me. Having been a storm owner as well I miss the touch screen. Hope its a perfect fit for me.....

And you leave Storm and Storm2? What was the reason? The only touch I've had was that dreaded Samsung thing sprint had years ago, and I hated it. Never went back to a touch screen after that.

The Storm was ok, and I sold it to get Storm2. Storm2 was a big pile of fail, one bad OS after another, and the Surepress screen was terrible.

I might leave my 9650 to get the 9930 but not until my contact is up. I hope by then some of the bugs are worked out of it and that the OS has been tweaked a little from whatever it releases with.

I prob won't move till themes are available for it tho. After all, How can I do my job without themes available????

pcgizmo, i wish all the CB 9650 Genius would comment on what they plan to do as far as the new Bold is concerned. I'd just would like all of the opinions of the head of the class.

I must say I'm shocked! The way I see you directing people on how to get around all sorts of what they think are problems, concerning Bold 9650, I thought you were above any thing us common stuff people go through with their BB's. LOL! Just kidding. But I am actually surprised, i thought you were a BB Angel or something. Just joking, I really admire your insight and the way you address problems. Thanks for having a BB.

Gonna use my 9650 for another year. Only way I get another blackberry is if the app development picks up and if more of my friends get blackberries so I can actually have more than 5 friends on BBM.

Thanks for the thread. I don't have an upgrade till next year so I think when I get home from work today I'm just going to upgrade to OS 6.0.0.600. I still have OS5, but after reading almost entire thread it seems the logical thing to do is OS upgrade. The Bold 9930 runs OS7 and that seems like a buffed up OS6.
Several questions first if you don't mind. Should I take out my memory card before upgrade? Do I just use Apploader? Do I need to shrink anything? i have a 16GB m/card of music and pics i don't want to lose, and I am on Sprint. Anything else i should know? Always thanks for the help.

I never remove the SD card when I do upgrades, but it can't hurt to be safe.

I would just use apploader, the link in my signature gives great instructions.

I shrink out the games and extra languages to free up some memory.

Back up your SD card contents to your PC.

Sprint just released 6.0.0.600 last month and it's a pretty good OS. I had some issues with freezing, so I installed 6.0.0.587 from MTS Mobility and it works great!

Is 6.0.0.587 available in apploader? I don't like to have issues or problems with my cell phone.

Also do you delete all games and language you don't use or just some of them? And do you do that when it's connected to apploader or before? Can you get games back if you want them? Once I lose all sample pics that came with my 8330 after doing an OS upgrade, don't want to lose them either.

No you can go right to 6.0.0.587.
It will be quite different for you, I won't lie. OS6 is an entirely different animal. I love it but some people panic when they first install. Just do three or four battery pulls after you get it installed and give it a day to settle. The data arrows go nutz for a while.

As for 587, it's the only OS6 flavor I haven't tried but pcgizmo likes it well enuf. I have 6.0.0.600 by Sprint on my VZW phone. It freezes occasionally and I do get the Black Screen Of Death once in a while but I can live with it for now. Either is fine.
