Go to My Computer > C Drive > Program Files > Common Files > Research In Motion > App Loader
Once in the App Loader folder look for the Loader.exe file, that is the file used to load the OS. If you don't see the Loader.exe file go into the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and look for the OS in the list of installed programs. You may have a bad download, if so, delete the OS program, and download the OS again making sure the drivers are fully installed. Make sure you delete any other OS versions on your computer before downloading the newer OS.
Any more questions or problems, please ask.
Thanks a million. If I have a question that I can't find in a post or a thread, what is the proper way to seek help?

Also Dawgman, the apploader I found has instead just the word : Loader, with a cell phone to the left of it. Jaydee told me that was the one I was looking for. Will apploader back up my memory card? I have a full 16GB card and it takes 45min to save it to my cpu. All help is greatly appreciated.

No, apploader does not back up memory card contents.
AppLoader doesn't backup the memory card because it doesn't delete the contents of it.
And if file extensions are hidden, then yes, you'll just see Loader.
