Is there a way to fix the application memory leak so many of us have experienced? The only thing that seems to help is constantly re-starting my BB using quick pull.

You can upgrade your os. That seriously helped my memory leak.

I tried to do a wireless upgrade but no new versions were found. What OS should I upgrade to? I'm not interested in upgrading to a leaked version of 5.0 or anything like; I want to get something official if I update my OS.

What apps do you have? Do you have too many of them running in the background? If so, close them by selecting the "close" option from the menu.

The latest official release is 4.6.0.282

Download one and use the DM to upgrade. Wireless upgrade is a 'white elephant' ....

The latest "official" version is 4.6.0.282. Both Vodaphone in the UK and Rogers in Canada have this version posted online. My memory holds a little better than when I was on 4.6.0.185 which was a huge improvement over the stock AT&T one your unit still has.

The only apps I have running in the back round is YouMail Visual VM.

    App List:

    Bolt
    Uber Twitter
    Yahoo Go
    IHeartRadio
    Pandora
    App World
    Crackberry App Store
    Quick Pull
    Parlingo
    BuzzMe
    YouMail
    Google Maps
    Amazon Mobile App
    Google Mobile App
    FreeTips
    FaceBook
    Myspace
    Vlingo (free version)
    ForceRadioOn
    FlashLight.

    Two more questions:
    1)Can I download 4.6.0.282 from the RIM/Blackberry site?
2)Is there a guide on the site for installing a new OS using the DM?

    1. Yes, you can navigate through blackberry.com to find the latest OS for each vendor for the Bold.

    2. This site has a page on upgrading your OS. Link here:

I've tried running the update using the guide you linked to but when the Desktop Manager software opens but when I see the "searching for device application updates" another box asking if I want to install the available upgrades never opens. Can anyone give me a hand here?

Just wanted to let everyone know that I was able to upgrade to .286 using the application loader. It seems to have fixed all my problems with application memory. Too bad I just found out .292 was released & .297 is coming soon. Guess I'll just wait for AT&T to release .297 before I upgrade again.

    Thanks everyone for the help!
