Pretty sweet device! It is unbranded... no Telus logos. Sadly made in Mexico

Will post thoughts etc. later once I get home and do the device transfer wizard thing. Good thing I don't have much to do at work today!!!

Okay, I'm gong to get the 9900 but I'm quite disappointed that Telus has a no contract price of $629!! I'm a year into a 3 year contract and want to upgrade. Has anyone on an existing contract talked to Telus about at least matching the Rogers price?

Just came back from the Telus flagship store in Montreal. They received 5 units and I bought the first one. Another client was buying one will I was there. So they should have 3 left. I also went by the telus store inside Eaton centre and they just received them. Don't know how many though. Hope this helps!

Typing this from the amazing 9900 keyboard!!!! WOOHOO

I'm pleased to report it appears the battery in my TELUS 9900 seems to be much better than my Rogers 9900. They're running the same builds too.

That's standard. I have to pay the same to renew early. You can negotiate with them to give you a 25% discount on the fee.

So, do I have this right? .. You pay $10 per month (of remaining contract) plus the 3-yr contract price of the phone and then you're started on a new 3-yr plan?

    Thanks in advance

Yes, pretty much. Previously with Telus, you were able to get a new 3 yr deal if you were half way through the contract, but now they have the new early upgrade rules.

I have 17 months left, so I have to pay 17x$10=$170. They were able to lower it to 125.

Plus the 3 year phone promo price of $149. Personally, I was thinking of renewing so I could get the 6GB/$30 data plan and obviously a new phone, but I am reconsidering it.

Ok got my unit at 2PM after 2 hours trying to get the upgrade to work. Their systems were reporting the upgrade to be $349.00 for my hardware upgrade with only 4 months left of my service. Took over an hour to move me off a corporate plan to a personal plan and then have them change their syetem to give the right price of $149.00. So all said and done i have a new package and price plan and a new phone. But i hope never to go through that mess again.

BTW the store only got 3 units in where i went. Thats just stupid.

I'm typing on my new Telus bold. Mexico 4 - it has no exterior branding but still retains the Telus splash screen when finishing the boot. Picked up the last 9900 at the Eaton's Centre Telus store. They said they have a bunch of 9810s in stock if you're interested in those...
