If they were out of inventory then why wouldn't they just place an 'out of stock' icon over the 9650's like they usually do with other phones. It must be in preparation for the 9930's.

Yep. They have other phones that are out of stock and have a red bar through them saying so. The fact that the 9650's are gone has to be a good sign. My defection to the iPhone 4 may be coming to an end sooner than I thought! I'm good with that.

So I've been a loyal BB user for some time now and am absolutely eager to get the 9930 from Verizon....I've been reading this forum and any news I can find on the "when".....

I just spoke to my local SoCal Verizon store. I asked when the 9930 will be out...At first it was "we know nothing" to "we just had OS 7 training"...But since OS 7 will be available for existing BB phones, they needed to be trained from what she was saying...She also said that for any new phones, they would have at least training on the device at least one week prior to them selling it. This is has not occured and she didn't know when it would. Very honest lady.

That said, no way will we see it this week or next. The 18th or the 25th for sure...I'm saying the 25th based on the week in advance training, IMO. There was no information anywhere in her system about the device and I got the impression there really wasn't much pent up demand or questions about it either, not that I care.

I want my 9930 dammit!!!! Common RIMM...Step up your viral marketing efforts already and send all users an email to create some excitment...GEEZ!

After much reflection, I decided to get a 9650 and bypass the 9930, although the 9930 was very tempting. I decided a 9650 for $100 U.S. was good enough for my needs. Well, I went to the local Verizon store this afternoon and got signed up at Verizon and got a nice new 9650. The 9650 might seem old hat to most of you but it is much nicer than what I am used to and it will take me a while to "outgrow" it. I guess I am one of the last people to get a VZ 9650.

It was funny, kept thinking I should go to the store today. I wanted to go later this week but somehow I talked myself into going today. I was afraid VZ would suddenly pull the 9650 without notice and the 9930 would cost more than I wanted to spend. Those of you looking forward to the 9930, get your wallet out, the wait is surely almost over!

The 9650 was available on Thursday June 3 2010 online and Thursday June 10th 2010 in stores.

The 9630 was available on Sunday July 12 2009 in stores. (VZW moved up its release to stay competitive with Sprint if I remember).

The Storm was available on Friday November 21 2008 in stores.

The Storm 2 was available on Wednesday October 28 2009 in stores.

Clearly there is no guaranteed date for a BlackBerry to be released...

Thanks for the confirmation that the 9650 is a reasonable choice. I was going to get a Tour a couple of years ago and didn't; this is better though not the latest thing. I'm glad I got under the wire. Yes, it is OS6. I would hope the 9930 will be available any day now if they are pulling the older stuff from their stores and website. Good luck!

I wish T-Mobile would do the same and remove the Bold from their website----instead they ADD the Curve 8520 for $187.49 like wtf lol I hope all the US carriers announce their release dates ASAP so we can all stop losing sleep every night.

Do you think it could be possible that the online site may have it b4 the stores by a week? I ask because If I recall either the storm 1 or the tour was available on the website first and the stores in my area didn't have them so I just ordered it online ( actually both phones were done that way along with my bold) but it was one of the 2 phones that I got online because I couldn't find a store around me that had it yet. Actually as im typing im thinking it was the storm...
Just wondering since they took the bold off the site and the csr said it was still available to get one from another location that maybe it would be online first
