This is driving me nuts..
The alarm clock symbol on the top of the phone on the home screen is showing, yet there is no alarm set.

When I go into the clock app, I see there is an icon on the bottom right that is not normal. If I turn on the alarm clock it shows the alarm clock icon the left side of the app.

What is this icon for? Can someone bring sanity to my life?

Try changing to a different theme and/or do a battery pull.
