It only lasts for a day .
    And when I mean for a day, i don't mean 24 hours.
    I mean like 12-14 hours .

I didn't know that chatting takes the whole life out of blackberry.
Is there any other way to increase it?

To my understanding, BOLD is using 1300mA yeah?
Is there a way to like minimize the battery consumption still?
(But I still need all my chatting to be on)
(All the 5; msn, ym, skype, googletalk, bbm)

Or perhaps it will help if i switch off the msn, ym, skype, googletalk and just keep the bbm online? Will that help?

Also, is there any other HIGHER capacity battery?
I just hope it isn't one of those which China made stating that its like 5400mA or something and it turned out that it's a crappy cheap battery that will go bust in like a month or 2 >_<

All those apps running at the same time will take their toll. There are larger batteries, check out the Crackberry Store.

    ummm, i was looking at this;
    https://forums.crackberry.com/e?link...token=IaLLm5F8

But it makes the BB fatter
1st - it's already fat enough as it is
2nd - i cant use my casing then

    then i saw these;
    https://forums.crackberry.com/e?link...token=sE9D_3uv

I assume it's the same size but it's only 150mA more

Should i just get the one from ebay?
Unless their 3600mA also makes my bb fat!

If you care about the size use two batteries (1650mah + oem) instead of the 3600mah. Or you can use one of the holsters that charges the battery (not quite as ideal though as a 2nd battery).

Anything over 1650 is gonna require a new battery door.

Anything above the 1650 will make it bigger. Nothing wrong with Ebay, but as always, buy at your own risk.

There's a review of a pretty cheap one on Berryreview somewhere (works on multiple devices). The nice thing is the way it works is that solar charges the battery in the charger, then that charges the phone. This is better since the solar charge rate alone is far too low to charge the phone.

How long have you had the Bold? Is WiFi and Bluetooth turned on? Some here have mentioned that once a new battery has been run down and charged a few times, it'll achieve its max usage. I do agree with this, when I first got my Bold a couple weeks ago, the battery only lasted me a couple days at most. After a few charges, I'm now getting about 4 days with light to moderate usage.

Lots of 3G data traffic will eat your battery. It might be your usage, or it might be that you've got one of those data hog applications running. Applications that poll the GPS all the time or frequently auto-update will kill your battery dead fast.

I personally advocate the second battery solution. RIM makes this pretty convenient with the Extra Battery Charger, either on its own or in conjunction with the Powerstation.

    (I loooooove my Powerstation.)

After you've explored every avenue possible, you'll realise that the battery life is seriously lacking.
Your best solution is a second battery.
    Good luck!

As I, as well as many others, have stated before...battery life is never a constant between individuals and devices, unfortunately. There are too many things that factor into battery life for their to ever be anything set in stone as far as getting the same battery life as someone else.

Menu - Options - About - Look at the 3rd line from the top (v4.6.0.xxx)

2nd - how do you go about updating it?

Also make sure you don't have applications running in the background. Always close the apps by selecting the "close" option from the menu.

But hey, it could be worse. The iPhone has similarly craptastic battery life, only without the option to get a bigger or second battery.

My battery life is absolutely STUNNING. GOD I love this phone.

    Tips:

    This is what I've done.

    Disable 3G (On T-Mobile)
    Set screen to 40%
    Set auto-dim to OFF
    Wifi OFF
    Bluetooth OFF
    Screen dim 20-seconds

You might also want to consider an all-in-one I'm app like Beejive or IM+. Those would replace the need to run MSN, Yahoo and Googletalk separately. I'd imagine running one app over 3 would b easier on the battery.

I don't know if any of the all-in-ones plan to support Skype (which is still in its infancy on BlackBerries). BBM will forever remain its own app.
