I can tell you the blessed OS has a couple annoying bugs like
1. Vvm - when playing back a vvm, screen goes blank and you can not do anything until the voicemail is finished playing. (A real pita if you have longwinded messages)
2. Sound profiles are a mess. Sometimes I get notification sounds, sometimes no.
3. Lately I'm getting complaints about low call volume. People I speak to can't hear me or its garbled. Very annoying.
So....I'm in the process of debating which leak or other os options I have, but each time I decide on one....another leak comes out, so I haven't changed from the stock os. Oy vey

I must have good luck with Carrier official OSs because from my 1 and only Tour and all the official releases only I have never had any trouble with them and hope it is the same with my new 9930.
I am also very careful about what I load and install on my device which I think is key!
Yes, you just have to delete the vendor.xml file prior to installing. On the PC it is found at: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Vendor.xml
