- So, would the 9930 work in Australia for example? We don't have any CDMA networks. We do have a 850mhz 3G one. Would it pop over to a GSM network by default?07-29-11 12:45 AMLike 0
- I understand the frustration, trust me. But we're entering into August which is most likely when the new devices will hit for every market. You'll have your new BB in no time. Let them polish it so that we don't have as many complaints at launch, RIM can get some positive reviews, and the market won't consider the BlackBerry a poor choice to use an upgrade on.
If I had to guess, I would say mid August for Euro, Asia, and Canada with US following shortly after.
Oh come on. I was just replying to hostility.
Lemme restate myself.
IN MY OPINION, the 9900 will/should be better than the 9930.
WHY YOU ASK? A few reasons actually.
1. Although the 9930 has CDMA. It will only work on a SINGLE network unless another network will allow your phone to work on it AFTER your phone is flashed.
2. 9900 has more bands. These bands are more widely used than CDMA.
3. GSM devices are known to have better battery life than CDMA devices.
4. HSPA+ anyone?
5. GSM is faster(in general) than EVDO.(CDMA Data Transfers)
I will be getting the 9930 on Sprint.
Just to prove I'm not trying to show how much better MY service is than others.
Have a nice day please~
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com07-29-11 04:17 AMLike 0 - July 28th was here and gone... I took a trip to the Verizon store and was not surprised to see the same old two BB's on display. It's a shame that its taking so long for a company to release new products to the public. I am due for an updated and I'm just waiting for the Bold 9930. I have decided to wait only till August, after that my wait is over and getting the iphone. Here's another sad story, while at the Verizon store I over heard two customer talking that BB was discontinued and my point is BB is really losing market share.07-29-11 04:44 AMLike 0
- It always comes down the marketing and RIM has dropped that ball all over the place. No cohesive message, no clear picture and no real business/consumer benefit message. Make the BB a phone the corporate guy wants and still wants when it comes to fun. Work hard, play hard.
From what I have read up on these last few days tells me RIM's hardware is getting there. Vastly improved processor, internal storage, RAM to run apps and a future that includes QNX which means you can run Android Apps. If they can get QNX onto the phones (and dual-core should be a plus not a requirement) then RIM has a chance.
I for one am willing to return to the BB roots, but not if the phones are half baked and poorly implemented.07-29-11 06:51 AMLike 0
