    Hi, Its been a night mare so far and still continues. This morning i woke up and see my blackberry restarting again and again. Endless loop my was in and i was almost getting a panic attack. posted a thread and people helped me abit. Followed certain things, First tried factory reset but didnt work because it wasnt connecting to dm. Then i tried BBSAK, connected the device and thats it. Did know what to do.. now some else told me to delete that vendor file and run loader from the rim folder, did that. NOW I GET AN ERROR 102 SAYING TO RELOAD THE SOFTWARE AND GO TO Installing Device Software.

    PLEASE HELP!

    Edit - I do not have back up running, DM says it cannon communicate with the connected device. i hit update and then it says there are no device software given bellow.

    Sorry if my English is bad, not my mother tongue language.

    what happened when device was restarting? did it show the os loading bar and restart before completing, did it boot all the way and then restarted ?

    try this :
    1. go to command prompt and move to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader or C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader if you have 64 bits windows;
    2. write on prompt : loader.exe /nojvm, let loader start, press next;
    3. connect your device ( make sure desktop manager is not running);
    4. when the device pin comes up press next once and wait - the os installation will start.
    5. take all the steps and profit

    So you have downloaded he OS for your phone and installed it on your computer and you have desktop manager installed on your computer?

    To move to the folder from the command prompt you need to first cd c:\program etc.

    I think you also need to right click on the cmd icon and choose run as adim.

    Take it to a mobile phone shop that specialises in unlocking as it will need a cable and a computer to unlock it.

    I had this 102 error the other day. Not 100% sure what caused it but I do remember before that, I had just updated to App World 3.0 and installed Wikitude. Then when I restarted the BB (as you should always do after installing an app), I got the error!

    Luckily I backed up just an hour ago via BDM.

    This is an unlocked phone. Here in India we don't have specific carriers so all the blackberry's come unlocked.

    Download the OS to your computer, install it. once installed then go to your hard drive, then to program files, then to common files, then go to research in motion folder, scroll down to where it says vendor.xml..delete that file. Once deleted then click on app loader, connect your phone to the computer via the micro usb cable, wait till it sees the phone then continue and re-load the OS.

    This morning, after well over a flawless month, my 9930 froze up on me and gave me the 102 after a battery pull. Of course I didn't have a backup.

    Since I'm new to BB: Is this a common thing to happen? I haven't ever had to reinstall the OS on any phone I ever owned. I'm a little bit shocked to be honest.

    No, this is not a common thing and I hope I never get it what so ever. But, if you do, the only thing you can do is to reload the OS. You can also read what RIM has to say about it at: KB10068-"JVM 102" error appears on the BlackBerry smartphone

    This is one is caused by a java file issue. Usually an app cause these issues, but it could be any app including the core apps like BB email setup app, etc, etc.
